Privacy Policy
Effective October 4, 2026
This policy explains what information NerrdAlerrt ("we", "us") collects through the Pintrove app, Gatecheck, and the nerrdalerrt.com website, how we use it, and the choices you have. If you have questions, email info@nerrdalerrt.com.
The short version: we collect what the apps need to work, we never sell your information, we don't use advertising trackers, and we remove location data from every photo you upload. You can delete your account at any time.
1. Information we collect
Pintrove
| What | Why |
|---|---|
| Email address | To send sign-in codes and important account messages. Never shown publicly. |
| Username and account ID | To run your account. Your username is public. |
| Birth month and year | Kept private and never shown. Used to keep children under 13 off the app and to apply the limits for users aged 13 to 17 (see section 6). We don't ask for the day. |
| Photos you upload (pin fronts, backs and backing cards) | To build and verify the pin catalog. |
| Pin details and contributions (submissions, confirmations, reports) | To build the catalog and credit contributors. |
| Collection, want list and activity (points, badges, swag, season progress) | To provide the app's features. |
| Purchase records | To unlock what you bought. Payments are processed by Apple or Google; we never see your card details. |
| Basic technical data (device type, app version, error logs) | To keep the app working and secure. |
Gatecheck
Gatecheck doesn't require an account and doesn't collect personal information. Our hosting provider keeps standard server logs (such as IP address and browser type) for security.
This website
If you join a waitlist, we collect your email address to send launch news. Our hosting provider keeps standard server logs, and the site loads fonts from Google Fonts, which receives your IP address when the page loads. We don't use analytics or advertising cookies.
2. Photos and location data
- We remove GPS location and other identifying camera data from photos you upload.
- New photos stay private until a moderator approves them. Approved photos become part of the public catalog and are credited to your username.
- Photos that moderators reject are deleted, and the private original of an approved photo is deleted once the published copy (without location data) is made.
- To read printed facts from pin backs and backing cards (like edition size), we send those photos to an AI service provider, Anthropic. It processes them on our behalf under terms that don't allow it to use them to train its models.
3. What's public
Your username, profile swag and badges, approved photos and pin contributions are visible to other users. If you appear on the leaderboard, your points are visible too; you can turn that off in settings. Your email address, birth month and year, and purchases are never public.
4. How we use information
We use information to provide and improve the apps, moderate content, prevent fraud and abuse, respond to support requests, and send account and launch emails. We don't sell or rent personal information, and we don't share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
5. Service providers
We share information only with companies that help us run the apps, and only for that purpose:
| Provider | What they do |
|---|---|
| Supabase | Database, file storage and sign-in (servers in the United States) |
| Anthropic | Reading printed text from pin back and card photos |
| Resend | Sending sign-in codes and account emails |
| Apple and Google | App distribution and in-app purchases |
| Cloudflare | Hosting this website |
| Kit | Waitlist and launch emails |
Pintrove includes links to eBay listings through the eBay Partner Network. When you follow one, eBay's privacy policy applies to what you do on eBay. We may also disclose information if the law requires it, or to protect the safety of our users.
6. Children and teens
Pintrove is not for children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from them. If we learn that a child under 13 has created an account, we delete it. If you're a parent and think your child has signed up, email us and we'll remove the account.
Users aged 13 to 17 can use Pintrove, with these limits:
- They can't buy paid mystery boxes. This is checked on our servers from their birth month and year, not just in the app.
- They're left off the public leaderboard unless they turn it on in settings.
- There's no open messaging between users.
Anyone can report a photo or username they find offensive. Moderators review reports, remove content and can suspend accounts. Usernames are checked against a blocklist when they're chosen.
7. Keeping and deleting your information
We keep your account information while your account is open. You can delete your account in the app or by following the steps on our delete account page. When you do, we delete your email, username, collection, want list, private photos and activity within 30 days. Pins and approved photos you added to the shared catalog stay in the catalog without your name attached. Records we're required to keep by law (for example, purchase records) are kept only as long as required.
8. Your choices and rights
You can ask us to access, correct, export or delete your information by emailing info@nerrdalerrt.com. California residents have the right to know what personal information we collect and how it's used, to request deletion or correction, and not to be discriminated against for using these rights. We don't sell or share personal information as those terms are defined under California law.
9. Security
Information is encrypted in transit, access to it is restricted by account, and moderators see private photos only through short-lived links. No system is perfectly secure; if a breach affects your information, we'll notify you as the law requires.
10. Changes to this policy
If we make significant changes, we'll update the date above and tell you in the app or by email before they take effect.
